Give It Up For Lent |
by: David Pawlak |

|
“American Beauty”, demonstrated this well. THIS, here my friends, is IT. So often, it is that way, we come to see that THIS is our opportunity, and for many, that time comes too late. What do we do, knowing that we have the opportunity? (If we are that lucky) Well, the closer you are to death, the clearer the answer becomes. Sorry for the “morbid” position, but in this time of Lent, it has a special significance in terms of the Toltec path. You have probably heard that death makes an excellent councilor, and even in the case of Jesus Christ, such was the case. He was a man, a man that knew, that not only was this his opportunity, but also task! But even so, as man, he looked through the same eyes as you and me. His body, his emotions, his mind, would be so much more comfortable not to have to do what he knew he had to do. The desert sun is hot, the wind blows dry, hair rustles in silence. Why don’t they see it, why can’t they see it like me? THIS is your very breath. Life, experience in Being. Proof of the ultimate miracle, of Timeless Existence itself. My father, what can I do? I have done all that is humanly possible. And my tear falls here on this arid soil, not for my self, but for the Love of thy Self, for the very Essence of THIS. But you have made me man. It is strange, I am trapped by bounds, beginnings, ends. My vision is made shallow, and I fear. I fear the end. I fear an end that I know does not exist, but my apparatus cries out. And I know that this is part of it, the completion of the cycle of Life. With my Body, I sow, in so very fertile soil. And I see there is no other choice but to offer it all to you. I am you. And my friends, I AM YOU.
Give it up for Lent. In Love and Light, Dave |

What Do You See? Part 2: The Marix Or The Illusion |
by: Kalyn Bastion- |
||||||||
“…it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.” In the movie “The Matrix” Neo had been living in a computer-created world. This created world is, of course, symbolic of our world, called the maya or the illusion by the hindus, and called the dream of the planet by Toltecs. No matter what it is called the effect is the same, it is an in-body process meant to give us the experience of physicality and meant to aid us in our growth. Although we experience our lives and the world as being “real”, at some point we awaken to the idea that this is not all that there is and that there is something more out there. As we increase our awareness we begin to find patterns, repetitions and too many coincidences in our lives for it all to be random: we begin to suspect that there is something, perhaps destiny or God, controlling it all. Patterns, repetitions and coincidences in our lives can be found in many places. For example, we all have known someone of which it is said that no matter how they try to change their lives, they always end up in the same situation. A co-worker in the past was accident prone. Whether he took a bicycle to work, drove or took the bus he always managed to fall and get hurt no matter how hard he tried to avoid it. The cause of the accident changed every time: a pebble in the road to cause his bicycle to crash, a poor driver on the road causing the accident or a simple slip as he stepped down from the bus. Coincidence? I think not! We have all heard the saying “going with the flow”. When life seems to fall nicely into our lap and all is going our way, we feel like we are going with the flow, because everything seems to be working with and/or for us. And then there are times when nothing seems to work out; no matter how hard we try and no matter what we do, nothing is easy and if something can go wrong it will. We are going against the flow now. But what is this flow and who’s flow is it? If it is the flow of life, then this means that life has some sort of consciousness, some sort of direction. Is it just a coincidence that sometimes find ourselves going with the flow and other times we find ourselves going against it, generally when we are already running late? Or is it that it is all an illusion, an illusion created by the consciousness of life, or a higher power? Why is it that the matrix or the illusion is set up this way? The purpose of this in-body process is to allow us to grow. In The Matrix the people who are still “plugged in” are not free and are at the merci of the computers. Are you free? Tune into Part 3 next month when we will discuss freedom and how it is that the matrix or the illusion works to help us grow. Love, Light & Peace -Kalyn Visit the Toltec Mystery School Click here |

Jumping to Conclusions |
by Mark Sutton |
||||||||
|
When we
practice that old Olympic sport of jumping to conclusions, awareness, and
perception shut down creating a fixed and conditional view of our world.
Conclusions are a logical consequence of reasoning which produce closure.
Closure therefore limits further investigation, bringing about an impassable
wall, causing us to enter into an agreement. Beliefs are developed by our agreements which are nothing more than a harmony or consensus of opinions. Prejudice, bigotry, and judgments are merely byproducts of beliefs produced by our conclusions. The more limited beliefs we have, the more contempt we reflect prior to investigation creating an accelerated leap into conclusion, thereby resulting in an even more limited belief system. In order to grow awareness, our old inventories must be taken apart piece by piece, belief by belief. The old sport of jumping to conclusions must be set aside. Concluding that this path is the only growth path creates limitations. We are warned not to turn the Toltec Path into a belief system or it will lose its power to change our lives. Eventually it to must be dismantled in order to evolve beyond a "person of knowledge" into what don Juan called a "seer". Conclusion is the door that shuts the box called belief. Mark About Mark: In 1975 I was first introduced to the teachings of don Juan through Carlos Castaneda’s books. In the latter part of 1999 my world collapsed and now I realize through a chain of events, my spirit guides were preparing me for a physical teacher, Kris, who appeared in early 2001, thus beginning my apprenticeship into to the Toltec world. Since then, this incredible journey has continued to unfold as a path of freedom creating more peace, growth and movement than I could have ever imagined. |
