There is a Zen saying, “To
understand nothing takes time.” When in body we have available to us the
gift of time. Time is a wonderful tool but it is a tool we often repel. In a
society of instant gratification many have difficulty accepting and using
time for their growth and transformation.
Due to time there are
things we can do in body that are simply not possible when not in
physicality. Due to time we have process. A spiritual path is a process. It
is through the process of healing that growth and transformation occur. It
is through the process of cleaning, clearing, and healing the human tonal
that we reclaim our personal power.
It is possible to compress
time. We do this through awareness. The more awareness the more time is
compressed, and the “quicker” our transformation. Awareness is like a
muscle. The more we use it the stronger and more expansive it becomes.
What most people do is to
grasp and repel. They repel the healing they need to do, due to their fear
of pain. And, they grasp at the life they want. The problem with this is
that by grasping and repelling they are expanding time. In other words they
prolong their suffering. By grasping and repelling they stop the possibility
of process. Without process no growth and transformation can occur. All they
have is motion, like a dog chasing its tail – lots of motion but no
movement.
Repelling is a form of
avoidance. Avoidance is a shutting down of awareness. When we shut down
awareness all growth and transformation stops, we end up living the same
painful cycles over and over again.
When we embrace time and
process, each moment becomes fuller and more alive. Life literally expands
in each moment. Each moment becomes a transformative process.
A practical exercise we
can do is to slow down. A spiritual master moves slowly. When you find
yourself in a rush to get things done, slow down and you will get more done.
But more importantly, when you slow down and engage your awareness, your
growth and transformation actually speed up.
Savor each moment. There
is another Zen saying, “Chop wood, carry water.” In other words by fully
existing in simple daily activities we enter the state where time becomes
our ally and not our enemy.

Did you know that living a spiritual
life, living a rewarding, fulfilling and enjoyable life is simple? It is
so simple that any one of us can do this. Of course, as we look at
ourselves and those around us we find that many people don’t find it to be
so simple: after all, wouldn’t anyone choose a dream of hell over a dream
of heaven?
Perhaps people would choose heaven, but they are not
in charge, they are not the ones choosing. We all have our parasite, or
our ego, which controls us and controls our thoughts, feelings, actions:
it is our parasite which dictates our behavior, our very lives.
This is often challenging for people to see, for they
think that they are in control of their own lives, that they are the ones
making decisions and choices. However, this is not true. Children are
often seen as free spirits, as enjoying life and as living in the moment.
Children are better able to live a simple life of heaven regardless of
what comes because their parasites are not fully developed. They do not
have preconceived and limiting notions of people, of life, of how things
should be. By being naïve to life and how it works, children are open to
follow their hearts and open to the changes of life.
So, how can we become more like children? How can we
release our dream of hell and adapt a simple and spiritual way of life or
a dream of heaven? The truth is that we already know: it is by releasing.
We think we know so many things, we think we understand so many things…
this keeps us treating life in the “appropriate” manners. And that closes
us down.
Instead of fighting life, enjoy life for a change by
finding the silver lining on each cloud. Assume that you don’t know, that
you don’t understand. Simplify your life: make choices out of love and
leave fear behind. It is far easier and it takes less effort to be open
to life instead of fearing and fighting it!

My House

My house is dirty,
rooms a mess
and I sit here scribbling.
Dust is thick,
clutter roundto hell with that,
I do not care.
The words do flow,
and I am free, at long last
to meet my own priorities.
Mess and muck
are most polite,
and wait so courteously,
til I get round
to deal with them,
they wait so patiently.
My tombstone will never read
"Here lies a perfect housekeeper." |
Those words are apt,
for truth to tell,
this place so small,
no larger than a coffin.
Time for a change,
expand these walls,
so I can stretch,
reach for the sky
not stub my toe
on last month's newspaper.
I swear,
I'll clean
next week...
when the planets are in
the right configuration.

I’m sure
every child has heard someone tell him, “No don’t touch that it’s HOT”.
Well, we know that a great percentage, if not all, touch it anyways, sooner
or later! Although I personally don’t remember precisely, I was probably
thinking, “yeah, but what IS “hot” anyways?”. What it comes down to is
knowing for ourselves. A warning does not communicate the emotion of the
reality, and strangely, even if the warning was cleverly enough composed to
convey all the details of the imbroglio, our curiosity would be sufficiently
peaked to give it a go anyways.
So it is
in our daily life, we are normally occupied with one of two activities:
satisfying ourselves or surviving. Emotional body activities.
Now, when
I started on this path, I wanted to know about the Nagual, about the
unknown. One of my big questions was, “how do I get to and find the
unknown?”. Anything I can imagine is “the known”. The unknown comes from out
there, it is something different than I could ever know or imagine. I used
all the Carlos Castaneda tricks to explore in dreaming and just seemed to
come up with modifications of “Earth Life experiences”. For sure, things I
could never otherwise experience, like traveling Warp 9.8, passing through
walls, traveling to an electron and lucid dreaming in a lucid dream in a
lucid dream etc!
But then,
as I began to work with Kris, I began to see that Earth Life Experience
seemed fuller, denser, packed with experience. I saw that my dream body was
always with me and that it thrived on diversity of events in consciousness
here. As I lost my physical form, the Dream was more evident and I saw that
I was in a very special place, where the intensity of experience was like no
other “place” in existence.
So we
feel the fire in our everyday lives. We dwell on the events and drama, we
strive to change our lives. And for that we barely know that we are here, in
this special place. Curiosity and “knowing for ourselves” are inherent in
us, and while they drive us to the depths of daily drama kicking and
struggling, awake and lucid in this Dream, they can become powerful tools
for the accumulation of Personal Power, in the wonder of consciousness here
on Earth.
